JEM's gems

JEM's gems
November 4,2005
Okay, I finally made a decision about who I am voting for Mayor of Cincinnati. Our city is about to embark on a new realm. The jewels of Cincinnati have always been here, but negative media has dimmed these. "We're Pepper people" is David Pepper's campaign slogan. Maybe that's double entendre..we the supporters are Pepper people and his family is Pepper people. Just a my children are influenced by our business lives, I am sure it is a positive that David grew up with his father John Pepper as the CEO of Procter and Gamble. David also interned in Russia under Putin. He understands this whole global approach to economical development of any major city. I believe he is not politically motivated as he may begin as mayor. Cincinnati must market ourselves as the muti-cultural city we truly are. Our police must be empowered to act as the professionals they truly are. Media cannot drive our city focus when it does not reflect reality of situations. So I am officially a "Pepper People."

First gem...10-02-2005

Life is full of gems...those events, people and moments that are precious. As our son Michael headed back to Ohio(no) The Ohio State University today after his first two college weeks, I realized I may not tell him and Suzanne enough that they are my most precious gems. How blessed I am that they are my children. Unlike some of my friends that are "mourning" the moving out of their child, I did remind Michael today that I celebrate this point in his life...this is what nuturing a child is about...seeing them mature and take their own "steps" in life. Sure, I miss him, but I see his growth in self-esteem even in this short time. Michael Moyer, as his sister Suzanne Moyer is already doing, is going to positively impact the world! I rejoice in their intelligence and their life approach.
